Lulian's older brother Elijah gave him the nickname "Bud" as a child. He rarely went by anything else.
He served in the army during WWI and was sent to France, but the Armistice was signed before he was sent to the front.
Lulian was a farmer. He also raised American Foxhounds, and loved to go on fox hunts. He was a real character - always funny, and nearly always loud.
Lulian was a longtime member and song leader at Rock Falls Church for over 40 years.
