Mabel was the daughter of Fredrick Loughridge and Sarah Stair. She was raised in Brook Indiana with sisters, Ida Flora, Nora Blanch; and brothers Oliver Otis, Chester Stair and Elroy (Roy) Joseph.
Mabel graduated from Brook High School in 1915. She married a former classmate, Wilbur Crudden, on February 14, 1917.
Mabel and Wilbur are buried together at Goodland Cemetery, with son Chester, age 6, buried next to them.
