She was the daughter of Dr. Matthias A. Cornelius and Elizabeth A. Lewis. Her father was the first city medical director in Dallas. She married Lewis Myer Connor, who served in the position of city chemist and was a brother of Winship Capers Connor who was a Dallas mayor. Her sister, Tullora Fannie Cornelius, was the first wife of Mayor Connor.

She and L. M. had five children: Lewis Meyer Connor Jr., Mary Connor, Frances T. "Fannie" Connor Horner, Edla V. Connor Glover and Remington R. Connor.
