Philip R. Bair, 72, entered into God's eternal care, February 9, 2009, at Homewood of Plum Creek Nursing Center. Philip was the loving husband of Betty M. (Cover) Bair, whom he married October 28, 1956.

Born May 21, 1936, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Richard J. and Louise A. (Mathias) Bair.

Philip was the owner and operator of Bair's Fried Chicken and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. He enjoyed boating, camping, listening to country music, and most of all doting over his granddaughters.

In addition to Betty, his wife of 52 years, Philip is survived by two children, Tony A. Bair and wife, Maryann of Hanover and Wanda K. Conway and husband, Sam, Jr.; two granddaughters, Casey Conway and Amber Bowers and husband, Michael, all of Spring Grove; four brothers, Norman Bair, of Hanover, Thomas Bair of Wrightsville, William Bair of Carlisle, and Grant Bair of Sedona, Ariz.

Besides his parents, Philip was preceded in death by a brother, John Bair and a sister, Susan Bair.

Serving as casketbearers will be Norman Bair, Thomas Bair, William Bair, Grant Bair, Michael Bowers, Tim Cover, and William Cover.

Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens.
