A Mass service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Saint Gerard Catholic Church, 809 Orange Ave NW, Roanoke, VA. Interment in the Williams Memorial Park, Roanoke, VA.

Vivian Crawley Pierce, 83, of Roanoke, Va., departed this life on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Lewis Gale Medical Center after a long illness. She was born on February 5, 1926, to the late George and Hattie Price. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Crawley; daughter, Toni Crawley Turner; two brothers; and one sister. Vivian was a faithful member of St. Gerard Catholic Church until her health failed. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald Pierce; daughter, Carolyn (Sam) Pope; grandson, William Faison; sisters, Helene Seymour and Yuvonne (Rev. Carl) Tinsley, all of Roanoke; brothers, George (Charlotte) Price, of Washington, D.C., Cornice (Lucille) Price, of Maryland, and Lawrence Price, of Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Signa Price, of Maryland, Annie Ruth Juanso, of Lexington, Ky., and Alice Crawley, of Roanoke; brothersin-law, Jimmie Ray Lomax and Richard Allen Lomax, of Big Stone Gap, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She always had a special caring and loving relationship with all her siblings and they will miss her. Mass service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009, at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Father Rene' Castillo officiating. The interment will be in Williams Memorial Park.
