Obituary - Ira E. Wilkin

Ira E. Wilkin, 75, of Lynchburg, died Sunday morning at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.
Born in Highland County on December 25, 1909, he was the son of Augusta and Mary Elizabeth (Fawley) Wilkin.
His wife, the former Ada Countryman, to whom he was married December 23, 1959, survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Brown and Sonja Creed, both of Lynchburg; two step-daughters, Shirley Hill of Peebles and Beverly Rowe of Samantha; four grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and twelve step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held for (sic) the Fairview Church of Chist member (sic) at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Fairview Church of Christ, with Larry Jackson officiating.
Friends may call (today) Tuesday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. The body will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service.
