Billy E. Lloyd, resident of Poth, Texas, passed away February 9, 2009, at the age of 72. Bill was born August 6, 1936 in Ira, Scurry County, Texas to Ceward D. and Jackie Cabe Lloyd. Bill graduated from Chelsey High School in Chelsey, Oklahoma where he resided with his grandparents, Oscar and Martha Cabe. After graduation, Bill began careers in the oil drilling industry, ranching, sales, truck driving, saddle making, and ending with security work in the oil fields of South Texas. Bill was preceded in death by his father on August 8, 2003, and his Mother on February 1, 2003, he was also predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Carole Talk; children; sons Ceward Keith Lloyd and wife Lisa of Austin, Texas; Ronny Sig Lloyd and wife Meredith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and daughter Valerie Maxine Lloyd. Step-daughter Mignon Talk Hoskins and husband Charles of Brownsville, Texas; step-father Charlie Davis of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren Russell Lloyd, Jeremy Lloyd, Chase Lloyd, Alex Lloyd, Casey Lloyd, and Kristen Lloyd. Also survived by cousins Barbara Lloyd Cooley of San Angelo, Texas, Terry Lloyd of Midland, Texas, Peggy Lloyd Berry of Port Arthur, Texas, and Robert Lloyd of San Angelo, Texas, and a host of dear friends. One of Bill's proudest accomplishments was qualifying a "reining horse" for the AQHA World Show. Bill's greatest joys in life were his grandchildren, his horse Tuffy, and his dog Honey. Pall Bearers were Russell Boening, James Byrom Sr., James Byrom Jr., Lou Rosenberg, Jason Leonhardt, and Emmett Rotter. Conducting the services was Reverend Grant, retired Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Floresville, Texas.
