Fatal Accident, Two Men Killed.

Automobile Overturns At High Speed Almost Instantly Killing
LEHMANN AND ALEXANDER

The Other Occupants of the Car Were Only Slightly Injured.

At about four o'clock Saturday afternoon, while Ben Lehmann, Levi Alexander, Bert Gurley and Joe Hogan, all of this city, were riding in an automobile on the level road between Braman and Blackwell, headed for home, the car, which was running at the highest possible speed, struck an obstruction in the road and turned a complete summersault, Levi Alexander, who was driving, and Ben Lehmann, who sat in the back seat, were thrown under the car and both so badly injured that they died inside of the half an hour, Gurley and Hogan, one in the front seat and one in the back seat, were only slightly injured.

The injured men were taken to Braman, where medical attendance was called, but nothing could be done to save life.

The bodies were brought here Sunday evening in autmobiles and taken to the Hayden & Gill undertaking rooms, where the body of Lehmann was prepared for burial and shipped on the Sunday night train to Monmouth, Illinois, for burial.

The body of Alexander was taken to the family home on north Ninth street and funeral services were held at the Catholic Church at three o'clock this afternoon and burial made in the Catholic cemetery.

Alexander was 33 years of age and leaves a family. Lehmann was 50 years old and without a family. Sam Lehmann, a brother in law came here from Leota, Kansas, to take charge of the body of Ben Lehmann.

The car in which the party was riding was brought to Ponca City Garage and is only slightly damaged. - Ponca City Democrat.
