She was a retired teacher having taught for 17 years at Salcedo and many years in Sikeston prior to her retirement. She was made an honorary member of the South Grade School P.T.A. organization in Sikeston six years ago.
She was a member of the First Christian Church here and for many years taught a class in the congregation.
She was born at Morley on Jan. 8, 1882, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Newton. She is survived by a brother, L. E. Newton of Morehouse and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Home here with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery here.
