COX FUNERAL SERVICES TOMORROW

Funeral services for Leslie Daniel Cox Sr., 72, retired contractor who died early yesterday at his home, 1149 Parallel, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Stanton chapel the Rev. Harold Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon cemetery.

A resident of Atchison 35 years, he had been confined to his home as a semi-invalid several years.

Mr. Cox was born June 17, 1888, in Geneva, Nebraska, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cox, and at an early age moved to Denton where he was reared. He married Miss Julia Gullikson of Leona. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary last year. At Denton he worked with his father and brother running a dray service.

Mr. and Mrs. Cox moved to Atchison in 1926 when he came to work on the construction of the St. Benedict's abbey building. He was engaged in concrete and plastering work. He is remembered as a hard working dependable man, and had part in building the Denton school house, Mount St. Scholastica and many other buildings.

He leaves his wife of the home, four daughters, Mrs. Opal Burchett of the home; Mrs. Twila Scott, Kansas City; Mrs. H.D. Cowan and Mrs. Leon F. Gardner, Athison; a sister, Mrs. Edith Denton of Denton; a brother, Jess Cox of Horton, nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran church.

The Rev. Harold Roberts officiated. Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery. In the account of his death yesterday, the name of his son, Leslie D. Cox Jr., was accidentally omitted.
