At Galivants Ferry SC on the 31st of January 1877, Jessie Viola, daughter of D. W. N. and Anna M. Chesnut, aged 3 years, 9 months and 11 days.
Little Jessie was a most interesting child and a favorite with all who knew her. As an only daughter she was the pet of the family. But God has seen fit totake that dear little one from this world to sin and sorrow to join that "angel band" of which she was so fond of singing. And though you will miss the music of that sweet voice that was want to make much melody in your home and fill your hearts with gladness; yet it is a consoling thoughtto know that she has escaped from the temptations and trials of this life to join that happy throng that are waiting to welcome you home.
