A. W. HARRIS DEATH VICTIM
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 29th, at the Spring Hill Church for A. W. Harris, 73 years of age, who died July 25th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nettie Merritt, of the Loyal community.
Mr. Harris was born in Georgia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. A. Harris. He had been ill about six months prior to his death. Services were conducted by the Rev. J. T. Horton of Poplarville and the Rev. J. J. Lowe of Spring Hill. Interment was in the Spring Hill cemetery with the Colonial Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harris survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Harris, Liberty, Texas; nine children, Mrs. Nettie Merritt, Poplarville, Mrs. Ella Sellers, Liberty, Texas, Mrs. Katie Sellers, Sweeney, Texas, Clarence Harris, Poplarville, Henry, Clayton and Billie Harris of Picayune, Louise Craft, Picayune and Minnie Harris, Biloxi; two brothers, T. J. Harris of Tennessee and J. R. Harris, Tylertown; two sisters, Mrs. J. T. Bennett, Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. A. O. Barnett, Mantel, Miss.; 24 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a host of relatives.
Pall bearers were Colan Merritt, Robert and Orvil Merritt, Cecil Harris, Wayne Stewart and Albert Slade.
