Pominent Hebrom Woman Succumbs
Mrs. Halsey Wintermute, 87, a lifelong resident of the Hebron community, died on Friday evening at her home. The former Rachel Magdaline Hollinger was born Feb. 2, 1868, on a farm a short distance from her recent home, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hollinger. She attended the local school and on April 30, 1890, she was married to Halsey Wintermute in Hebron. They settled on the farm which had been their home for almost 65 years. For 30 years she accompanied her husband and his brothers, Tom and Harry, on circus tours and even did some acting. These showings were in the warm months, but they always wintered at their home here. She was a member of the Hebron Community Mehodist Church and its Women's Society of Christian Service. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Hallie, on the home farm, and two daughters, Mrs. Zella Hall of Whitewater, and Mrs. Wesley Beetow of Elkhorn, a brother, Lyman Hollinger of La Grange, a sister, Mrs. Pearl Dunlap of Milwaukee, eight grandchildren and several nieces and newphews.
