Pvt. (Lt) WF Beckett, Company G, 2nd Alabama Cavalry Regiment (CSA) Enlisted as a Pvt. in Company G, 2nd Alabama Cavalry Regiment April 2, 1862. Beckett was identified as a practicing physician and was elected a 1st Lt., doctors was exempt by law and could resign anytime, WF Beckett resigned the same day of his commission and returned back home to Welona, Ala. and continued his practice. WF Beckett did serve the remainder of the War of Northern Aggression in the Home Guard.
