Halsey B. Wintermute, 93, lifelong resident of Jefferson county, died at 9:45 p. m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the home of his son, Hallie,rte. 2, Fort Atkinson. He Had been ill 11 months. Mr. Wintermute was born June 3, 1868, in Hebron, the son of John and Sarah Conklin Wintermute. He was married to Maggie Hollinger on March 2, 1891, at Hebron. She died in February, 1955. For 30 years Mr. Wintermute was associated with the Wintermute Circus and the balance of his lifetime was spent in farming in the Hebron area. Surviving, besides his son, are two daughters, Mrs. Zella Hall, Whitewater, and Mrs. Zetta Beetow, Elkhorn; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. One son preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday from the Hebron Methodist church, the Rev. George Grimmett officiating. Burial was in the Hebron cemetery. Arrangements for the funeral were made by Skindingsrude and Lein funeral home.
