Mildred was the 7th child of Madison and Cynthia; a lucky number for she lived to be 109. She married Earl Bowers in 1906 and gave birth to their son, James Madison, in Colorado in 1908. The 1910 census shows her as a stenographer and widow living with Cynthia and Madison in La Junta, Colorado.

She married Seldon Baker and had Seldon, Jr., in 1916 in Texas. They lived in El Paso where she was a legal secretary and he a traffic manager. She seems to have maintained a sharp mind and interest in life well into old age. She was working on a novel in her 80's, traveling and active with the book club of El Paso.
