Lincoln Farmer Dies of Stroke
A paralytic stroke suffered while asleep at his home in Lincoln county caused the death Monday at 10 a.m. of Albert Ross Sansom, 83, father of Mrs. S.G. Damron of South Charleston. Mr. Sansom, a farmer and for many years a sawmill operator, died at the home of a son, Everett Sansom, of Sand Fork, near Griffithville, a few hours after being stricken. He had been in failing health since being struck by a car two years ago but had worked on his farm Saturday and listened to a radio program until midnight Sunday. Mr. Sansom was born in Lincoln county on March 3, 1859 to Edward and Loraine Cummings Sansom. Funeral services were set for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Chesapeake Baptist church. Burial was to follow in Marmet cemetery with the Johnson and Koontz mortuary in Hamlin in charge. Surviving besides the son and daughter are three other daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Pruess, Mrs. Luette Sansom and Mrs. Elva Lovejoy, all of Charleston; two other sons, Delmer Sansom of Charleston and Snowden Sansom of Julian; three brothers, Lee and Dexter Sansom of Ohio, and three sisters, Mrs. Louise Abbott of Morrisvale, Mrs. Hulda Sperry of Logan and Mrs. Rachel Brumfield of Ohio.
Rhoda Ann Linnville was the daughter of Alamander Linville and Juliantes 'Yantus' Spurlock. She is listed in the Spears and Spurlock family bible pages. She married Albert Ross Sansom. Rhoda's sister Octavia Jane Linville. Married Albert's Brother, Abraham Lincoln Sansom .
