Sarah Jane Wintermute died at the home of her son Halsey near Hebronon June 25th. She was born in Johnstown, now St Johns, Rockland County, N Y, on January 27, 1836. She cames to Wisconsin with her parents in 1856 She married John Wintermute in Sept. 1860. Three children were born to them, Harry, Thomas and Halsey. Her son Thomas preceded her 25 years and her husband 24 years. The first seven years of her married life were lived between Hebron, Whitewater and Fort Atkinson. In 1867 a farm was purchased near Hebron where her home was made until 27 years ago when she with her husband moved to Whitewater. For the past four years she made her home with her son Halsey. Besides her two sons seven grandchildren eight great grandchildren survive her. Funeral will be held at the Hebron M. E. church at 2 p. m. on Saturday, 28th, conducted by the Rev. Edward Langdon.
