Erma R. Nielsen DeWitt. Erma, age 82, passed away on October 25,2008. She was born on September 26,1926 in Fayetville, WV, the daughter of Arthur and Evelyn Cecil. Mrs. Nielsen was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, and son James. Surviving are : 2 sons, Roger (Marlene) Nielsen of Haslett, and Ronald (June) Nielsen of Lansing; daughter, Sharon(Eric)Dhanak of Lansing; 5 grandchildren, Camilla, and Shawn Dhanak, Linda, Joseph and Leah Nielsen; 4 great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Jordan, Brandon, and David; great-great -grandchild, Julian; and brother, Elmer"Bud" Cecil of Edmore. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staffs at Prestige Pines, and Eaton Communtiy Hospice for their exceptional care. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 29,2008, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. A committal service will take place at 2:30p.m. at Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice in memory of Erma Nielsen.
