Mr. James L. Anderson, 59, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009, in Biloxi.
Mr. Anderson was born in Biloxi and had been a longtime resident of the coast. James worked for many years as a mate in the off-shore industry, and in his off-time he enjoyed shrimping with his friends in the Mississippi and Louisiana waters. James also worked in the casino industry in Biloxi and Tunica, MS. He was an active member of the MS Gulf Coast Dart Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Wane Anderson, Sr. and Thelma Conway Anderson; brother, Clyde Wilmer Anderson; sister, Nellie M. Ratzlaff; niece, Amber Anderson Meyer; and nephews, Elvin "Bud" and Larry Anderson.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Christina Russell Anderson of Ocean Springs, daughter, Lorrianne (Jason) Byington; beloved grandchildren, Nathan, Cody, Chelsea and Caitlin all of Vermontville, MI; brothers, Wane (Susan), Robert (Virginia) of Ocean Springs, and Elvin of Gulfport; and sister, Thelma (Robby) Coggin of North Ogden, UT. James will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, "Bit".
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
