Walter Warren Blum, 68, died Sunday, March 26th in his home at 352A Firth Street in Phillipsburg.
He retired in 1986 as a machinist with the Cameron Pump Division of Ingersoll-Rand Company.
Born June 30, 1920, in Brainards,NJ, he was a son of the late William Henry Blum and Wilhelmine "Minnie" Friedericke Gross.
He served in the Army Air Corps in Australia during World War II and the National Guard during the Korean War.
He was a member of the College Hill Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge 395, BPOE in Phillipsburg, and Bernadine-May American Legion Post.
In 1966, he was given the Firthtown Boys Club President's Award for outstanding service to youth.
He is survived by his wife, the former Anne Margaret Love; two sons Roger Warren Blum of Tempe, AZ, and Christopher Alan Blum of San Mateo, CA; a daughter, Annette Marie Vliet of Oldwick, NJ; a brother, Robert Wyckoff Blum of Brainards; two sisters, Gloria Senkewich of Highlands, NJ; and Helena Field Sutton of Bethlehem; and three grandsons.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in MacFadden Funeral Home in Belvidere. Interment will be in Belvidere Cemetery.
