Star City –

John Clifton Whitten, 62, died at his home, at Tarry this morning.

Survivors include four sons,, Marvin and J. C. Whitten of Arenal, Calif., Cecil Whitten of Star City, and Walter Whitten of Tarry; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Wess of Redondo Beach, Calif.; four brothers, Ray, Julius and Jim Whitten of Star City and Oscar Whitten of Tarry; and one sister, Mrs. Jim Saint of Star City.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 Friday afternoon at Palmyra Cemetery by Rev. Henry Phillips. Burial will be in Palmyra Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Easel Whitten, Edward Whitten, Vance Butler, Vance Green, Ophe Carrington and Carval Bailey.
