Grace Mae (Dalton) Godwin went peacefully to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006 at Florida Hospital, Sebring, Florida. Grace was born May 17,1918 to Pleatus (Pete) and Nancy (Nan) Dalton in Gwinnett County Georgia and moved to Jacksonville approximately 70 years ago. Grace lived in Tampa, Florida from 1964 to 1988, and in Avon Park, Florida for the past 7 years. Grace was predeceased by both parents and her husband of 45 years, Harry B. Godwin, Sr. as well as her brothers: George, Ben, Troy and Theodore; sisters, Daisy Morton and Dot Dannely.

Grace is survived and will be greatly missed by 3 sons and their families: Larry (Nancy) of Orlando, Florida, H.B. "Buster" (Candi) of Eagle River, Alaska, A.H. "Hal" (Vicky) of Newington, Georgia; 2 daughters and their families: Mary Annette "Monkey" (Kenny) Hagey of Dacula, Georgia and Nancy Grace Jones of Avon Park, Florida; one "other" daughter, Barbara Greenwell also of Avon Park; 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm Saturday, Nov. 4th in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. in Jacksonville. Graveside services and interment will follow immediately at Greenlawn Cemetery on Beach Blvd. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, Nov. 3rd at the funeral home.
