Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Mae Evans, 64, whose death occurred at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. And Mrs. Luther A. Beynon of 350 Arthur Street, Walnut Grove, Johnstown, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Beaver Valley United Brethren Church, near Flinton, Cambria County. Rev Ralph Beeler, pastor of First Evangelical Congregational Church will officiate, assisted by Rev. Neff, pastor of the Beaver Valley church, Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Evans’ death terminated an extended illness of a complication of ailments. She was born in Cherry Tree, May 28, 1874 , a daughter of Benjamin and Ellen (Heilman) Tonkin . Her mother survives and resides in Cherry Tree. Mrs. Evans’ husband, George W. Evans, died seven years ago.

Surviving are these children: Mrs. Nellie Pierce, Gurner H. Evans and Mabel, wife of Luther A. Beynon, all of Johnstown . She also leaves two brothers and a sister, Merle Tonkin, Cherry Tree; Frank Tonkin, Marsteller, and Mrs. Anna Lydic, Toledo , O.
