WILLARD - Dorothy Elizabeth Poulsen Butler, 77 passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2009 surrounded by her family and friends.

Dorothy was born in Bloomington, Idaho on February 8, 1932 a daughter of Clarence and Pearl Nelson Poulsen.

She married Vere J. Butler on July 26, 1948 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Vere died September 15, 2000.

Dorothy was an active member of the LDS Church. She served as compassionate service leader and enjoyed being a visiting teacher. She was president of the Golden Spike Human Society for many years and was very proud to assist in the building of the Brigham City animal shelter. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and enjoyed her Book Club and playing cards with her friends that she dearly loved in Willard.

She had a great love for her family, friends and animals. Her grandchildren were the sunshine of her life.

Surviving are her daughter, Dixie Hansen, grandchildren, Rebecca and Tyler Petersen, and Michael Laub. Also siblings: Glen Poulsen, Arlin Poulsen, Duane Poulsen, Merle Richan, Carol & Dennis Billings and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her sister Norma and brother Gerald.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Willard 2nd Ward Chapel, 80 N. 100 W., Willard, UT.

Friends may call Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT and on Wednesday from 1:00 to 1:40 p.m. at the Church.

Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
