Mrs. Bernice Abbe Dies At Hale Center
Hale Center, March 7 (Special) – Mrs. Ida Bernice Abbe, 77, who moved here from Goodland only four weeks ago, died shortly after noon today at her home. A native of Young County, she had lived on the plains for a number of years, formerly residing at Morton.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Morton Church of Christ at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Burial, under the direction of Rix Funeral Home of Lubbock, will be in Morton Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Abbe leaves her husband of 53 years, J. M. Abbe; two sons, John M. Abbe Jr. of Hale Center and H. B. Abbe of Morton; two daughters, Mrs. C. R. Williams of Hale Center and Mrs. H. E. Kirby of Goodland; a brother, C. K. Holt of Muleshoe; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
