"Lewis H. Baker, was truck driver.
Lewis H. Baker, 71, died Saturday afternoon at the Duke Convalescent Home, 425 N. Duke St., where he had lived for nine years.
He was the husband of Gloria M. Rhoads Baker. The couple observed their 49th wedding anniversary Dec. 20.
Born in Perryville, Md., he was a son of the late Leroy P. and Fannie Potts Whiteman Baker. He was employed for 10 years as a truck driver with the former Canada Dry Co. in Lancaster. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Lewis H. Jr., Manheim, and John L. and Dennis E., both of Lancaster; three daughters: Joan M., wife of John P. Minnick; Shirley A. Sparks, and Debra L., wife of John Todd, all of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Etta Gibson, Newark, Del."
