Obituary

Much Sympathy is felt for Mr Matthew Beckett of Davitt Terrace, on the death of his estimable young wife which occured on 14th June.

Deceased was second daughter of the late lamented Mr. John Lavelle, Auctioneer, Westport, who took a very leading part forty years ago in the Westport Tenants Defence Association and subsequently in the land league, which on its formation absorbed that organisation.

She was a member of a very old and respected Westport family and was a loving wife and mother. She leaves two children, boys to mourn her early demise.

The remains were taken to Westport Parish church before internment and High Mass de requirm was celebrated for the eternal repose of her sould.

The funeral to Kilmeena was largely attended.

The cheif mourners were: Mr Matthew Beckett (Husband), Matthew and Jack Beckett, (Sons) Mrs O Malley (sister), Mrs Keating and Miss Barbara McGreal (Aunts)

The last prayes at the grave were said by Rev. Father Lyons, CC. R.I.P.
