Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Smith Hardamon, 80, of Nash were held Jan 14 at 10 a.m. at the Chapelwood Mausoleum in Nash with Pastor Tim Reid officiating. Interment followed at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Nash.

Dorothy was born in 18 Mar 1927, Doddridge, Miller, Arkansas, the daughter of Letha Viola Nichols and Samuel Chester "Bill" Smith. She died 10 Jan 2008 of multiple myeloma in Texarkana, Bowie, Texas.

She and her husband, Charlie Hardamon, owned and operated C&D Sales and Service in Conroe for many years, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nash. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charlie Crawford Hardamon; her grandson, Ramsey Yelvington Ellis; and one brother Billy Wayne Smith.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Coble of Mansfield, Texas; Karen Jean Hardamon of Fayetteville, Ark., and Judith Ann Ellis of Barbados, West Indies; one sister, Linda Sue Johnson of Joaquin; three grandchildren, Sheila Denise Payne of Doddridge, Mason Hardamon Ellis and Cassidy Ann Ellis of California; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Marie Rodriquez and Thomas Ryan Payne, both of Doddridge; niece, Margaret Ann Flenniken Breedlove; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Winnie Faye Smith.
