Henry W. Ballweg, who died last night at Havana, was one of Springfield's best known cigar store proprietors.

He had spent the summers at his cottage on Baldwin beach, near Havana, for a number of years and left Springfield for the beach yesterday. He was accompanied by his wife and her brother, Alva Folk, who resides with the Ballwegs in this city.

For the last twenty-five years, Mr. Ballweg operated a cigar store, lunch room and billiard parlor at South Sixth street and he owned the building in which the business is located. He also had been the proprietor of a cigar stand in the lobby of the First National bank building for more than five years.

Mr. Ballweg came to Springfield from New Berlin where thirty years ago he operated a cigar factory.

He was a member of Springfield council, Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Ballweg is survived by a sister, Miss Sarah Ballweg, of this city, and other sisters residing outside of Springfield. The Ballwegs had no children.
