Death came quite suddenly last Friday morning to Frnak Roberts of Thayne.
His passing at this time was a shock to the entire community, as no one felt he was in any poorer health than he had been during the past few years.
About five years ago Frank was operated upon, and since that them he has been a constant sufferer, suffering such intense pain most of the time. The last year he has been unable to move from his chair without assistance.
Frank was born in Salt Lake City Utah, November 9,1885, the son of Griffith and Mary Ann Mathews Roberts.
When but a small boy his mother passed away and when Frank was eleven years old he came with his father, three sisters and one brother to Star Valley and has resided in Thayne since that time.
Frank was a very active Democrat having been precinct committeeman for years, and served as Deputy Assessor for four years. He was at the time of his passing, our efficient Postmaster at Thayne, and was able to oversee this office up until Wednesday morning before his death.
April 21, 1913, he was married to Edna VanNoy. To this union were born seven children, namely; Mary Roberts Wolfley of Etna, Martha Roberts Call, Afton, Frank, Doris, Mathew, Rhea and Griffith of Thayne.
Funeral services were held under the direction of Bishop Dana, Joseph Hart conducting.

The grave was dedicated by Frank Linford.
The church was filled to overflowing and a number of people returned to their homes, as they could not enter the building.
Besides his wife and children he leaves three grandchildren one sister, Mrs Leo Nelson, Sandy Utah; One brother, Griffith Roberts of Blackfoot, Idaho and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
