Laura Jane French is the daughter of John Joseph French 1813-1890 and Mary Jane Rales 1831-1879.

She married Henry Luther Crews and they had these children: Laura Inez 1900-1988 married Lewain Cosbie Friedrich; John Henry Crews 1902-1985 married first Audrey Charlotte Carter, second Helen May Osman (nee Cable); Florence G. Crews 1905-1991 married William Stonewall Hoover; Louise Tehleen Crews 1911-1993 married Irwin George Kern.

CREWS--Of 1823 Prytania St., on Sunday, Sept. 7, 1952, at 4:15 o`clock a.m.
LAURA JANE FRENCH aged 86 years, wife of the late Henry L. Crews, mother of Mrs. Lewain C. Friedrich and Mrs. Irwin G. Kern of New Orleans, La., Mrs. Florence Hoover of Little Rock, Ark., and John H. Crews of San Leandro, Calif., also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were conducted at the home of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, Inc., 4127 South Claiborne Ave., near Milan St. on Sunday afternoon Sept. 7, 1952, at 5:00 o`clock, by the Rev. M. W. Merrill of Canal Street Methodist Church. Remains were taken to New Iberia, La. for interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
