OTTUMWA, IOWA - Marshall Johns, 63, of 402 Carlisle died at 7:15 a.m. Feb. 17, 1989, at his home.

He was born July 13, 1925, in Davis County to Lee and Mildred Scott Johns. A resident of Ottumwa, most of his life, he was a 24 year employee of John Morrell and Company and a 10 year employee of Easter Foods. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and served four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then married Cecile Houser Wolver on Aug. 10, 1972.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Nancy Morrow of Desoto; a son, Bill Petrehn of Ottumwa; three step-sons, Lary and Mike Wolver, both of Ottumwa, and Leonard Wolver of York, Penn.; a step-daughter, Mary Kay Thompson of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Paul and Wilbur Johns, both of Ottumwa, Richard Johns of Decatur, Ill. and Leo M. Johns of Galesburg, Ill.; and four sisters, Zelma McAllister and Delores Doud, both of Ottumwa, Alberta Reid of Desoto, and Charlene Pruitt of Riverview, Fla.

The service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Faith Baptist Church, the Rev. Phil Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Walter B. Schafer Post Number 775 of Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in charge of military services at the gravesite.

The family will be at Reece Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Lobberecht, Stan Buretta, Lawrence Hammond, Delmar Miller, Carl Young, and Elwood Stater.

Memorials have been established to Faith Baptist Church.
