LUDWIG WILHELM MELCHER was born to John and Dora Melcher in Fedor, Texas on May 3, 1917. He was baptized, confirmed and lived his life as a faithful servant of Christ in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. He shared his life journey with Hermine Agnes Melcher who became his bride on July 22, 1945. Ludwig and Hermine were blessed with four children: Dennis Melcher, Joan Melcher Bone, Jerry Melcher, and Carol Melcher. Ludwig served his country in both the U.S. Army and the Army Air Corps during World War II. He is survived by his wife, four children, two sisters, Matilda Hannusch and Louise Beran, and one brother, John Melcher, Jr. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. On February 19, 2009, Ludwig went peacefully to his heavenly home to be with his Lord. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 8101 Senate Ave. Houston, Texas 77040. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, February 23, 2009 at Epiphany Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be given to Epiphany Lutheran Church.
