Mrs. Harriet Rush, aged 73 years, seven months and 23 days, passed away at her home south of ____ about 3:30 o'clock, Thursday ______. Mrs. Rush, mother of Mrs. O.W. Harper of this city, has been suffering for the past several months from high blood pressure and other ailments incident to advanced age.
Funeral services were conducted at the Tennessee church Saturday. Burial was in Willow Branch cemetery.
Harriet Josephine, daughter of William and Elizabeth Henderson, was born June 1st, 1860, and departed this life May 24th, 1934.
She was united in marriage to Ambrose Shehorn. To this union were born seven children. He with two children preceded her in death. She was again unitd [sic] in marriage in 1921 to William S. Rush and they lived a devoted life until her death.
Early in life she united with the New Zion Baptist church and remained a true christian until death.
She leaves to mourn her passing a loving husband; five children; Ed S. Shehorn, Rinard, Ill.; Oliver Shehorn, Johnsonville; Mrs. Anna Hooten, Peoria; Mrs. Myrtle Harper and Mrs. Cora Young, Fairfield; twelve grandchildren, seven stepchildren; five sisters and two brothers.
