She and her husband owned and operated the Gamble Store in Beardstown from 1953 to 1984. They moved to Quincy in 1989. Before their marriage, she taught in rural schools. She also had been employed by J.C. Penney Co.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Beardstown and the Sunset Home Auxiliary. She also attended Vermont Street United Methodist Church in Quincy. Alice was always a cheerful person and she enjoyed spending time with friends and acquaintances.
Services were entrusted to Hansen-Spear Funeral Home of Quincy, Illinois.
