Mrs. Morris was the daughter of the late Edgar M. and Cenie Mae Ingle Morton. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Predeceasing her besides the parents were her husband Roy G. Morris; sons James Morris and Billy Ray Morris; grandson Bobby Hawkins; son-in-law Kenneth Hawkins; two infant brothers Truman and Edward Morton.
