JAMES D. PARKER
HICKORY - James Donald Parker, 64, of Hickory, died Jan. 27, 2005, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Born June 19, 1940, in Bradley County, Tenn., he was a son of the late Berta Parker Varner.
A member of East Hickory Baptist Church, he retired from Regal Manufacturing and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Linda Faye Parker, and a brother, David L. Varner.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Fay Fannin Parker of the home; three daughters and their spouses, Donna Parker and Karol Kepchar of Oakton, Va., Kaye Creger-Williams and Sammy Williams of Troy, N.C., and Debbie and Randy Brookshire of Hickory; a son and his spouse, James and Connie Parker Jr. of Hickory; stepchildren, Joe and Janice Smith and James and Rose Smith of Oakdale, Tenn., Michael Smith of Harriman, Tenn., and Tim and Dee Smith and Elisha Voils of Hickory; grandchildren, Hayes and Carson Parker Kepchar of Oakton, Va., Cody Williams, Nathan Creger and Sydney Williams of Troy, N.C., and Katrina and Kaylin Brookshire and Julia, Jake and JoAnna Parker of Hickory; and stepgrandchildren, Jaden Voils and Timothy Smith Jr. of Hickory and seven more who reside in Tennessee.
A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, Tenn.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall St., Nineteenth Floor, New York, N.Y. 10005.
