Mrs. Annie M. Bessey, wife of E. T. Bessey, died at her home in Knox, Wednesday evening, December 31, after a six month illness. Mrs. Bessey was born in Knox May 26, 1872, daughter of Charles S. and Eliza Ellen (Foster) Vose, and lived in Waldo County the greater part of her life.

She was past matron of the Josiah H. Drummond Chapter, OES, and a member of the Knox Farm Bureau and of Frederick Ritchie Grange of Waldo.

Surviving, besides her husband are one son, Claude L. Bessey of Knox; one daughter, Mrs. Zilpha M. Neal of Bangor; four grandchildren, C. L. Bessey Jr. and Shirley Bessey of Knox, and Allan J. Neal Jr. and Eleanor Ann Neal of Bangor; one great-grandson Jeffery Robert Neal; one brother, Fred N. Vose of Monterey, Mass.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Knox Ridge Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Frank A. Pittman of Belfast officiating.
