Funeral services for Drury, W. Cornwell, 73, were held Saturday, August 12, at the Algood Methodist Church with the Rev. R. D. Davis officiating. Interment was in the Algood cemetery.
Mr. Cornwell died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leonard Dunavin, after a lingering illness.
A native of Smith county Mr. Cornwell was the son of William and Louisa Goodall Cornwell. He was married in 1898 to Julia Delores Huddleston, who died about 20 years ago. He had been a resident of Algood since 1900 and had been a member of the Methodist church there for many years.
In addition to Mrs. Dunavin, he is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Layton Stanton, Nashville, and Mrs. Milton Acuff, Little Rock AR; two sisters, Mrs. H. T. Pointer, Algood, Mrs. Robert Campbell, Nashville; nine grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
