World War I Veteran Dies- Clarence Wainscott, 78, died at 12:50 p.m. Saturday at Hinsdale, Ill. He had been in failing health the past five years. Born May 14, 1882, at Lafayette, he was the son of George and Anna Wainscott. He was married March 17, 1928 to Mabel Price. Mr. Wainscott served in the U. S. Army during World War I and saw action in a number of major battles. He was discharged in 1922 after 19 years in the service. He was employed by R. R. Donnelley & Sons before retiring. Survivors include his wife; a stepson, J. Edwin Price of Orlando, Fla.; six stepdaughters, Mrs. Thomas Eads of Arcadia, Mrs. Charles Gilmore of Covina, Calif., Mrs. Charles Carter and Mrs. Guy Cunningham, both of Danville, Ill., Mrs. Ernest Bebee and Mrs. Walter Oppy, both of Crawfordsville; two half-brothers, Andy Leslie of Crawfordsville and Hubert Leslie of Jacksonville, Miss. And two half-sisters, Lulue Lightcap and Lillian Elkins, both of Crawfordsville.
