LAKE GENEVA — William F. Trinke, 85, a prominent attorney, real estate developer and a former Republican state senator, died Saturday at his home. He was born Jan. 25, 1897, in Lyons Township, and married Altha Hooker on Dec. 9, 1925, in Lake Geneva. A veteran of World War I, he served in the Red Arrow Division. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School and was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a past commander of Frank Kresen Post No. 24 American Legion and served as Wisonsin state Legion commander in 1945-46. He was a Wisconsin state senator from 1949 until 1961. He was a member and past past president of the Walworth County Bar Association, a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, and a member and a former vice chairman of the board of trustees of the Menominee Indians. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Orley Jensen of Madison; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frieda Christianson of Racine. Graveside services will be Tuesday in Oak Hill Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion.
