Obituary for John Amos Bolyard. Preston County Journal. Kingwood, WV. Thurs., Feb. 15, 1951.
Excerpt--age 84, a life-long resident of this county, died last Thursday after an illness of four days. He was born Oct. 13, 1867, s/o Alexander and Jemima Funk Bolyard. He married Nancy Ellen Bucklew of Fellowsville on July 4, 1884. Survivors include his children, Mrs. Cora Combs of Mt. Pleasant, Frank V. Bolyard, Asa Bolyard, Mrs. Emma Runner, Ernie Bolyard, Russell F. Bolyard, Clarice Bolyard, Ressie Bolyard, all of Tunnelton and vacinity, and Mrs. Vernie McCartney of Grafton, two brothers, Doliver Bolyard of Coulee City, Wash., three half-brothers, Walter and Nathan, both of Grafton, and Ira Jackson Bolyard of Aurora and one sister, Mrs. Etta Lipscomb. Burial was in the Mt. Israel Cemetery in Fellowsville.
