Ronald Louis Batye, 44 of Independence, Kansas died Wednesday September 3, 2008 at his home after a long battle with esphogeal cancer. Cremation has taken place.
Ronald Batye aka Ronnie Lee Porter was born August 25, 1964 in Columbia, Missouri. The son of Claude Batye and Lavone (Kellner)Batye. Ronnie grew up and attended schools in Eldon, Missouri.
He was employed by Lance and Judy Stanislaus. And in the construction industry. He also worked for Parhams Bakery for several years. He was know to be a "jack of all trades". He thoroughly loved all the work he did.
Ronnie was an avid Harley Davidson fan who loved all the outdoor activities. He especially enjoyed frisbee golf. He was also an avid Bible Student.
On May 29, 1992 at Sedan, Kansas, he married the love of his life, Mary Ruth Spalding. She survives at the home.
A wonderful husband, excellent father and an awesome poppy, Ronnie was a man that had no enemies and was loved by all that knew him. He loved to be surrounded by his family and friends. As a husband, he was wonderful and his loving wife Mary cherished their time together and would not trade anything for it. Not only was Ronnie a wonderful father, but he was a best friend to his children. To him his grandchildren were his life.
Additional survivors include:A son Edward Bauer (Nancy) Two daughters, Angela Marie Hulse and Jennifer Watkins. Seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn Shyanne Hulse, Maxewell William Hulse, Buddy Gaige Hulse Nathan Gardner, Matthew Gardner, Andre Bauer, and Sara Gardner. Many nieces and nephews.
Brothers and sisters, Donald Eugene Batye, Linda Hewitt (Rick), Kathy Porter, Shari May (Harvey), Wilma Hilburn (Kenny), Kenny Burkhart (Linda), Vickie Brown (Jim).
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Claude and LaVonne Batye, Joe and Candy Porter, CJ Bayte, and Ruth Ann Davis.
Through all his activites and love for his family, Ronnie lived life to the fullest. There will be a hole in the lives that Ronnie left behind.
