Alta Whaley

Alta Whaley, 83, who operated a restaurant in Sheridan from 1943 until 1976, died Monday in Mesa, Ariz.

She was born Aug. 18, 1899, in Holt County, Mo. She married Louis "Budge" Whaley in 1943. Whaley was a stock inspector in this area. He died in March 1966.

Mrs. Whaley was a life member of the BPO Does.

Survivors include a son, Harley Laney, Glendale, Ariz.; two daughters, Esther L. Reynolds, Mesa, Ariz., and Eleanor H. Milliron, sheridan; a sister, Vera Melton, Douglas; a brother, Everett Garrett, Elwood, Kan; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Champion Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elks section at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Friends may call at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Champion's.
