GLENWOOD PIONEER DIES AT BINGHAM

Richard A. Shaw, Old Time Resident of Sevier County, Victim of Miners Consumption. Interment at Glenwood.

The remains of Richard A. Shaw, an old time resident of Glenwood were brought here from Copperfield, Salt Lake county on Wednesday for burial.

Mr. Shaw had followed mining for years and had been afflicted with miners consumption from breathing poisoned air, gases and minerals, although the death certificate on the casket gave the cause meningitis accompanied by pneumonia.

Funeral services were held at the Glenwood cemetery Thursday. The speakers being Bishop Oldroyd, H. H. Bell and J. H. Payne, all men who had known decedent for years. They paid high tribute to him as a man, a citizen and a Christian. Beautiful music was furnished by a mixed quartette. Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife and five sons, two of whom are in tho the service stationed at Camp Funston and Newport, Oregon. The survivors are his wife, Mrs. R. H. Shaw, Bingham, Utah; C. H. Shaw Bellevue, Idaho; Len Shaw and Bert Shaw, Rock Springs, Wyo; Richard Shaw, coast artillery, Newport, Oregon; Thomas Shaw, air service, Camp Funston, Kansas.
