Dwight Maddux Rites Sunday
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Goodwin Memorial Chapel for Dwight E. Maddux, 80, of Huntington Route 4, who died suddenly at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wells Community Hospital. His sudden death was due to a heart seizure.
Born Oct. 14, 1895 in Wells County, he was a son of Chester and Ida Hege Maddux. His marriage to Alta Studebaker, who survives, took place Oct. 22, 1916 near Kingsland.
Mr. Maddux, who formerly resided in Bluffton at 401 West Wabash St., was a retired employee of the Bluffton Grocery Co., where he worked as a mechanic.
A lifelong residence of Wells County, he was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Bluffton Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Max (Jane) Stinson of Huntington Route 4 and Mrs. Jack (Carolyn) Zimmerman of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Lockwood of Yucaipa, Calif.; a brother, Charles Maddux of Bluffton, and four grandchildren.
Calling will be after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home where Masonic rites will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Rev. Matthew Worthman will officiate at the services and burial will be in the Six Mile Cemetery.
