She lived for a while with her maternal grandparents Her grandparents were Samuel H and Louisa Cochran Wilson.
They had come to Texas from Harrisonville Cass County Missouri and settled close to Bois'D'Arc Creek in eastern Fannin County.
When Effie was 5 years old, she and Louisa went to visit Liouse's daughter, Anna Storey in Carnegie, Ok. They both became sick with pheumonia and her grandmother died but Effie recovered after being given some medicine called KIll or Cure.Loe came and took her back to Texas to live. He had remaried to Elizabeth Wheeler, whose family had immigrated from Germany. These sisters were born from that marriage.Daphna (Grover Hodges),Alice and Viona(Earl Logan).

They had these children.
Juanita Maxine (C B Foster) Opal Ophelia (Allen Townsend)
Kenneth Preston (Martha Lewis) KIrby Leroy
Orena Vermelle (Billy Joe KIrkpatrick)Rexie Modell (James Parrish) Phyllis Jo (Enos Jackson) Colin Wayne (Sondra Spears) Patricia Eileen ( Mickey Deweese)
She worked hard for her family to keep us clean and fed. When her son Leroy bought the family farm she worked hard to help him pay for it.
My mother was what the Bible calls a virtious woman(Proverbs 31-10) She had a quick wit, liked to play jokes and voracious reader
She stood about 5'3" inches tall and stocky built with black hair and blue eyes.
She grew up working like a boy for her dad but after marriage became a great cook and seamtress. She made a lot of the girl's clothes, dressing my sister Rexie and I alike. That maybe the reason that Rexie and I seem to like the same style and colors in clothes. She not only made our clothes but she cut our hair until I became a teen ager and I learned how to do that for her and my younger sisters.
In 1995 she fell and broke her hip and she never walked again. She went to live in a nursing home with my sisters and and a sitter we hired to stay the days with her until she died from an obstructed bowel.
Her funeral was held at Direct Baptist Church with Raymond Copening and Jack H Elliot officiating.Grandsons were pall bearers. Written by daughter
