My son found Bill Cat in a drainage ditch during a visit to my Sister's house.
There was only the one little kitten and he begged to bring it home with him.
Of course we bowed to his wishes, with the understanding he would be responsible for him. He named him Billy. Didn't take Billy long to acquire the Nickname
"Bill Cat". And it definitely didn't take long for the whole family to fall in love with Bill Cat!
Billy was a Great Cat. We had him nuetered and he never strayed far from home.

Our Son Ray that owned him, entered him in several Cat Shows where Billy always came in one of the first three places.
He was a Beautiful Cat to have been a stray picked up in a drainage ditch.
He was mostly a house Cat. He did love to go outside and play around the yard.
Once in a while, he decided to stay out all night.

On this particular night was one of them. I thought it strange as it was a rainy night, not to his liking.
Next morning I went to the door to let him in, no Billy.
I called him for hours, walked around the yard and the neighborhood calling him as Ray was at work.

I called the Animal Shelter to see if perhaps he had been picked up. But, he had not.

Later that evening, I decided to get in the vehicle and drive through the neighborhood again.
As I passed this deep ditch just on the next street, I saw something lying in the ditch.
I turned around and went back and sure enough, there lay
Bill Cat. He was dead, but not a place on him, like he had been in a fight or hit by another vehicle? Don't know the cause of death, but brought him home and buried him under the yard light in our back yard.

My next door neighbor used to chase the Cat Birds off him when they would aggravate him! She really thought a lot of Bill Cat too! And would feed him just like he was hers.

~~~NOTE~~~
I found it very strange Bill Cat was possibly born in a ditch, as that is where he was found, and died in a ditch, as that was where he was found?
He is still loved and missed!
