Carl Clyde Huffines
HUFFINES - Carl Clyde, age 95, of Tulsa, OK, went to be with the Lord on February 27th, 2009. He was born on November 21, 1913, in Wynnewood, OK, to Ambrose and Nettle Huffines, and lived most of his life in Duncan, OK. For the last 11 years, he lived at the Country Club of Woodland Hills, in Tulsa, OK. Carl was preceded in death by: his wife of 66 years, Hazel Dean Huffines; 3 brothers; and a sister. Survivors include: his daughter, Carla Solomon (Jim) of Tulsa; his son, Calvin Huffines (Sandi) of Fort Myers, FL; grandsons, Scott Jeter (Laurie) of The Woodlands, TX, Steve Jeter (Liz) of Tulsa, Robbin Huffines, of Fort Myers, FL, and Mark Huffines (Sarah) of Chattanooga, TN; 4 great grandchildren; his brother, Herman Huffines, of Conway, AR; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends in Duncan and at the Country Club of Woodland Hills. Carl worked for the Sun Oil Company for 25 years, retiring from there In 1976. He was very active in the United Wesley Methodist Church and spent a lot of time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing. Funeral service will held at 2 p.m., on March 5, 2009 at the Grantham Funeral Home in Duncan, OK, with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Duncan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Wesley Methodist Church, 401 North First St. Duncan, OK 73533.
